Recovery week so far has been awesome. I’m seriously in love with recovery week. I love the workout and really strengthening the core. You really feel like you are doing something positive to your body. I also like that you are not supposed to over do it. It lets me relax a little.
I totally cheat during the shoulder burner things at the end. By the end of the “flapping” of the arms I’m ready to collapse, so I sit (still in plie) at the very edge of my short couch, so I’m basically in the same position, but I’ve got something holding me up. I know, I know, but I still feel my core working while doing the exercises to the end and my goal is to get rid of the couch.
As far as weight loss goes, nothing more. Some people would probably be like, “what? how is that humanly possible to be at the end of week 4 and not have lost more than 5 lbs?” Unfortunately, this is my life. It’s nearly impossible for me to lose weight AT ALL. I’m the gal who went on the HCG diet and gained weight…seriously! I know I’m losing inches, though, and that is very important. My favorite jeans I shrunk in the wash a month ago finally fit again! I can totally see a difference in my torso and according to the measuring tape, I’ve lost about 1.75″ in the thighs- which is HUGE!
Anyways, I’m still happy, still going and already starting to plan which Beachbody program I want to do next.

I’ve now made it a full two weeks on Insanity. While I’m not about to publish my measurements for the world to see, I will post my day 1 vs. day 15 fit test results.
Please note I have been a little sick for a couple days so I’m pretty happy I got through this at all.

I have not done my workout yet for the day but I have to report that I legitimately lost 1lb! Woot! Now, 1lb may not seem like anything to write home about but when you are only consistently seeing weight gain, then 1lb down is like Christmas morning to an eight-year-old. It’s the best feeling in the world! So, if I ONLY lose 1lb every 5 days, I’ll have lost 12lbs by the end of the insanity. I can live with that.

Today was day 2 of the insanity workout. I decided not to do it first thing in the morning, mostly because I woke up a little late and wanted to take H to the new children’s museum. I was a good girl, though. Oatmeal for breakfast and not much else until after the workout…except for that Starbucks scone. I almost forgot about that…oops!
So now I understand the workout. I’m not sure if this Shaun T. ripped off my former boxing teacher or if my boxing teacher ripped him off but either way, it’s basically the same workout. The difference was I was only doing boxing once a week but for 1.5 hours. Shaun T. has me going for broke 6 days a week, 45 minutes a pop. I could handle my boxing class. It was hard but guess what? I saw results. And that was only doing it once a week. I can only imagine the results I will see from doing Insanity 6 days a week. Now I’m excited. For the record, though, I’m not sure what my body will feel like each day. It’s only day 2 and I’m in so much pain from head to toe. My feet are so crampy during the workout. They kill! Plus I just realized while looking down that I really lean on the outside of my feet while exercising. It’s pretty bad. Ok. Day 2 done. Steak tonight with the hubbie. I love me some steak : )
