Insanity Week 5: Fit Test, Heart Monitor, & Holy Max Cardio Pain

So, I was feeling pretty darn good after recovery week.  So nice and relaxing; it did not prepare me for what was about to happen: Week 5.  On the first day was the fit test.

Fit test 3 (day 36) results:

Switch Kicks-93

Power Jacks-33

Power Knees- 55

Power Jumps- 17 (decrease)

Globe Jumps- 6

Suicide Jumps- 10

Push-Up Jacks- 12 (decrease)

Low Plank Oblique- 33

I blame myself for the 2 decreases.  I usually look at the previous results so that I can push myself to do better but on those two I just didn’t look and was pretty disappointed because I think I could have pushed myself harder to beat my last score.  So when the fit test was done, I was like “what?  they want me to do a whole other workout now?  What the fuck?!”  I’m already exhausted from the fit test and I put in Max Interval Circuit.  Now, that is just mean, Shaun T. Mean!  Another 60 minutes!  Huh?  Wha?  Seriously?!  Ok, let’s do this!  It also so happens that this was my 2nd day wearing my brand new super groovy Polar heart monitor.  On my 1st day, I burned 345 calories in a 40 minute workout. Below are results for day 2.

Heart Monitor Results (4/19/13): My ideal heart rate is 121-158.  Workout duration: 1:23:54.  Calories burned: 771 (that’s right bitches).  Average heart rate: 148.  Max heart rate: 167.  In zone: 1:03:58

That night I was in pain.  The next morning, more pain.  That shit was hard.  It was like take month 1 and adding a new element to every move.  It was grueling and the time extension was I think the worst part.  I had to skip 4/20/13 because I was just too exhausted and in too much pain.  I vowed that today (4/21) I would do 2 workouts.  1 in the am and 1 in the pm.  I totally kicked cardio butt today.  Woke up, did my Max Interval Plyo and burned 480 calories, then just finished (5:30pm) Max Cardio conditioning and burned another 407 calories!

I also broke out into hives on my neck, but that is a totally different blog topic.

Insanity Day 15: Fit Test Results

I’ve now made it a full two weeks on Insanity.  While I’m not about to publish my measurements for the world to see, I will post my day 1 vs. day 15 fit test results.

Please note I have been a little sick for a couple days so I’m pretty happy I got through this at all.
